Free Christmas Festivals in Shreveport-Bossier

With all of the craziness of the holidays, there’s nothing better than getting to take a weekend off to have fun. In Shreveport-Bossier, there are plenty of festivals that are put on so you can do just that. To make it even better, they’re all free!

This weekend, on Nov. 24, the annual Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival will be taking place on both sides of the Red River. Not only is it a free festival, but the first 500 children will also receive a free gift on both sides of the river.  Riverview Park will have food trucks such as Wonderstick and Miguelito Burrito, live entertainment by acts such as the Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band and Willie Jones, and a cornhole bag toss tournament.  At Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets, you will get to enjoy live entertainment by Red River Pipes & Drums, Bossier Parish Community College Jazz Band, and more. You’ll also get the opportunity to catch all of the remaining Black Friday deals at the many stores along Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. There will be pictures with Santa at both locations, just make sure you bring your own camera. The festival will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with fireworks starting at 6:45 p.m.

On Dec. 1, The Christmas on Caddo Fireworks Festival will be celebrating its 24th year of holiday entertainment. Not only will they have a top-of-the-line fireworks show, there will also be food vendors, arts and crafts booths, and a bounce house. To top it all off, Santa will be posing for pictures and giving gifts to the children. The festival will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Earl Williamson Park in Oil City. Fireworks are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

On Dec. 1, Vivian will also be hosting their annual Country Christmas Festival. This festival includes the lighting of the town, a holiday parade, the crowning of Miss Country Christmas, arts and crafts, and more. Santa Claus himself will also be there to take pictures with everyone at the festival. The Country Christmas Festival will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Vivian.

On Dec. 8, Benton is celebrating the holidays with the Benton Christmas on the Square Festival and Parade. They have many family-friendly activities planned including a parade, arts and crafts tables, horse rides, bounce houses, house tours, and more. They’ve also added a 5k run, health walk and kid’s fun run to the holiday festivities this year. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Heritage Village Square.

On Dec. 15, Haughton will be putting on their 2nd Annual Christmas in Haughton Festival. This year’s festivities will include a parade, food trucks, a kid zone, and a variety of local vendors so you can get any last-minute holiday shopping done. The Haughton High School Archery Team will even be there to wrap your gifts for you. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Joe Delaney Memorial Park.
