There’s just something magical about Christmas in Ruston! With beautifully decorated downtown shops, streets lined with twinkling lights, and holiday cheer in the air, Ruston elicits all those cozy feelings of being home for the holidays. You’ll want to be sure to spend some time in sparkling Downtown Ruston, where you’re sure to find a unique holiday gift at one of our local shops. After shopping, experience the lights from a horse-drawn carriage before you grab hot coco from a local coffee shop.
Downtown Ruston kicks off the festivities in November with Holiday Open House, followed by their popular Kickoff to Christmas event featuring a tree-lighting ceremony, horse-drawn carriage rides, a visit from Santa, and more fun for the entire family. NCLAC’s Holiday Arts Market is another downtown event you won’t want to miss, featuring art, music, food, and dozens of artists and makers selling unique, handmade gifts.
The first weekend in December is always packed with holiday cheer in Lincoln Parish. Catch Ruston Community Theatre’s annual holiday play on the Dixie Theatre stage and be sure to stop into a downtown restaurant for their holiday specials before or after the show. Then head just a few miles north to Lincoln Parish Park for the annual Lincoln Lights Up the Pines drive-through light display. This popular holiday attraction features thousands of lights, festive displays, and decked out vintage campers all celebrating the holiday season.
