Celebrate The Holidays With Live Music In Shreveport-Bossier

When it comes to holiday music, there is always plenty of back and forth about whether or not the original version of a song is better than any one of the hundreds of covers that have been done over the years. Regardless of what version you love the most, everyone should be able to agree that live music brings a different energy to a song that just can’t be translated over the radio. So if you’re in need of a boost to your holiday spirit, or you just love Christmas music, check out some of the live music events that Shreveport-Bossier has to offer this holiday season.

The James Burton Christmas Concert: Memories of Elvis is bound to be a holiday music experience like no other. This show will feature James Burton and Estelle Brown performing Christmas music as well as some of their favorite songs, including a special tribute to Elvis Presley. Before the show, VIP guests will get to watch and participate in an exclusive interview panel comprised of James Burton, Estelle Brown, and Elvis’s bodyguard, Sam Thompson. This unique concert experience will be held at Margaritaville Resort Casino at 8 p.m on Dec. 8. Tickets are $30 for general admission and $100 for VIP.

On Dec. 15, Bon Temps Coffeehouse is hosting Carols, Cookies and Cocoa. The audience will get to enjoy Christmas carols performed by Jeremy Pryor, complimentary Christmas cookies, and lots of Bon Temps hot cocoa. This fun Christmas event will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bon Temps Coffeehouse. Admission is free.

If you’re a fan of more traditional Christmas carols, Peace On Earth: A Christmas Concert is something you won’t want to miss. Hear carols such as “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Sing We Now of Christmas” as a full orchestra joins the First Baptist Shreveport Choir for this free concert. This annual concert will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 16 at First Baptist Church Shreveport.

On Dec. 20, A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage will bring the famous magic of Charlie Brown to life with the classic Vince Guaraldi music that has become synonymous with the holidays for so many. Watch your favorite Peanuts characters put on their own Christmas play and discover the true meaning of the season at the Strand Theatre at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35-$55.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis has become a holiday tradition for many people over the last 30 years as he’s taken this tour across America. Chip Davis brings the spirit of the season to life by combining Mannheim Steamroller Christmas classics with his original Fresh Aire music that introduced Mannheim to America.
