Shreveport-Bossier Christmas events focus on family

Nov. 14, Bass Pro Shops Santa’s Wonderland to open to the public

SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, LA – From Nov. 14 to Dec. 31, there are more than two dozen holiday festivals, exhibits, shopping excursions, parades, and performances in Shreveport-Bossier. One of the most popular annual events is Christmas in Roseland during the weekends of Nov. 27 – Dec. 20 with special encore openings, Dec. 21-23.

The holiday season is officially started when the 30-foot-tall Christmas tree is lit at the annual Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Nov. 19. There will be entertainment and “snow”.

Bass Pro Shops, generally known for its huge selection of fishing and hunting gear, starts Christmas with a parade on Nov. 14 and the opening of Santa’s Wonderland, all free to the public.

“We try to create a magical play land for the kids to enjoy with archery galleries, video games, remote control monster trucks, Lionel train set, shooting gallery, and craft tables for the kids to make their own free crafts they can take home and hang on the tree or put on the refrigerator,” said Ashley Walford, marketing manager for Bass Pro Shops.
