The holiday season is always full of so many events and extravaganzas that sometimes a little change of pace is needed. These holiday lights and displays give you the chance to slow down and enjoy what’s left of the holiday season.

The American Rose Center has been transformed into a winter wonderland for Christmas in Roseland. Visitors can walk through thousands of lights, multiple lighted displays, and see giant Christmas Cards painted by local schools. Christmas in Roseland is from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., every night until Dec. 23. Admission is $5 per person or $20 per carload.

Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets now has extended holiday hours so you have more time to enjoy their holiday decorations while you do your last minute shopping. Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets is celebrating the holiday season with lights throughout the streets, wreaths on all the light posts, a fountain that is in sync with Christmas music, and one of the largest outdoor Christmas trees in the region. Their extended hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Dec. 17 to 22, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 23.

The Shreveport Aquarium is putting on a Laser Light Show. This event includes a tour of the festively decorated aquarium followed by a one-of-a-kind laser show under their dome. Following the second show of the night, Santa will come out to read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to all of the guests. The Laser Light Show will take place at 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. every night from Dec. 19 to Dec. 23. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for kids.

The R.W. Norton Art Gallery has a new Christmas Exhibit that explores different holiday traditions and their origins. Guests can learn about the Mexican legend that led to the large poinsettia tree on display and view Russian art depicting the original St. Nick. They also have rare art pieces by Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Canaletto, and more to help celebrate the holiday season. The Norton is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. The Christmas Exhibit and Poinsettia Tree will be up until Jan. 8.
