Finish the year along the Trail with these Shreveport-Bossier Events and Activities

Flying Heart Brewing

Congratulations! You’ve officially survived the pre-Christmas frenzy. With Christmas Day festivities behind us and minimal gift wrap-induced paper cuts, it is officially time to celebrate. You deserve it. Known as Louisiana’s Other Side, the sister cities of Shreveport-Bossier invite you to see it, bet it, and taste it as you finish the year strong with these adult-friendly events and activities scheduled for Christmas night and weekend as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Flying Heart Brewing | Merry Christmas Party*

Flying Heart Brewing in Bossier City will be open Christmas night from 6-10 p.m. and December 26 from 3:30 p.m. till midnight. The brewery has extended its hours on Saturday night in celebration of the Independence Bowl, and Flying Heart invites fans of Tulsa, Virginia Tech, and beer alike to come watch football and enjoy their locally-brewed craft beer.

Independence Bowl

If you’re feeling it, you can actually go to the 40th Annual Independence Bowl! This year’s Independence Bowl, as always, will be held in Shreveport at, you guessed it, Independence Stadium on December 26. For more information, visit the website!

The Supper Club | College Colors Pub Crawl*

For a celebration after the game, register for the College Colors Pub Crawl here. Registration pick-up will be at The Supper Club, accompanied by local brewery tastings, and the pub crawl will commence as participants make their way to local downtown establishments.

Strange Brew | Hydrogen Child, featuring Lish Starshine & The Spirit Animals*

Strange Brew in Shreveport is hosting the release party for Lish Starshine & The Spirit Animals’ first studio album as well as the last performance by Hydrogen Child before an indefinite hiatus. Starting at 8 p.m. on December 26, this is a great opportunity to enjoy live, local music. Even better, the cover is only $10.

Harrah’s Louisiana Downs | New Year’s Eve Celebration*

This Bossier City casino invites you to count the clock down to 2016 and dance the night away at its New Year’s Eve Celebration. With performances by Miss Used and DJ Love as well as a huge fireworks show after midnight, I can assure you that you’re going to want to spend New Year’s Eve at Harrah’s.

Between the holiday excitement and never-ending list of events happening throughout the cities, Shreveport-Bossier is sure to ring in the New Year the right way.
