Details on our Social Media Contests

The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights cities are so excited to announce the contest schedule for the holiday season.

For our new readers, the basic concept is this: each of the Trail of Lights cities have compiled a gift basket full of amazing goodies from local businesses to be given away to participants like you through the contests. Each city “sponsors” its own contest, so to speak. The details of each contest have different requirements for eligibility, so here is the run down on how you can become a winner this holiday season!

Shreveport-Bossier From Oct. 19 until midnight on Oct. 23, Shreveport-Bossier’s fill-in-the-blank contest asks you to update your Facebook status with your response to: “My favorite stop/event along the Trail is _______!” The status with the most “likes” at the close of the contest will win! But don’t forget to use the hashtags #HTOL and #FaLaLaLouisiana so that we can see everyone’s responses.

Minden Every week, the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights sends an e-newsletter to subscribers with the latest scoop on what’s happening along the Trail. From Nov. 2-6, join our mailing list and you will be entered to win! The winner will be selected by random draw from our pool of subscribers–winning has never been so easy!

Natchitoches This contest will last from Nov. 16 until Nov. 20 at midnight. For this contest, we ask that you get creative! The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights will post a picture of our HTOL Elf on the Shelf on Facebook, and it is your job to comment on the picture with a caption. The caption with the most “likes” at the end of the contest will win!

Monroe-West Monroe From Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 at midnight, we have another fill-in-the-blank contest for you! Just update your Facebook status with your response to: “All I want for Christmas is _________.” To accompany your status, make sure to use the hashtags #HTOL and #FaLaLaLouisiana. The status with the most “likes” at midnight on Dec. 4 will win!

Alexandria/Pineville To boost your holiday spirit even more, the Alexandria/Pineville contest is called “But first, let me take an #Elfie.” From Dec. 14 until Dec. 18 at midnight, post a picture of you or your family with your Elf on the Shelf using the hashtags #HTOL and #FaLaLaLouisiana. Also, make sure to tag the Holiday Trail of Lights Facebook account in the picture. The picture with the most “likes” at the end of the contest will win! We are so excited to see what creative things you all come up with, so make sure to “like” us on Facebook so you’ll stay in the loop about each of our contests! And, believe me, these prizes are so great–you won’t want to miss out.
