Season Long Events in Monroe-West Monroe

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! See light displays, meet Santa, and ride in a wagon through Monroe-West Monroe’s winter wonderland! MWM has it all this Christmas season.

Freedom Trees: The Freedom Christmas Trees are 5 lighted trees at the Chennault Aviation & Military Museum set to honor the service of the men & women of the 5 branches of the US military. The trees will be lit on November 9th and stay lit until December 31st.

Christmas at the Biedenharn: Enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations throughout the Biedenharn Home and Elsong Gardens, decorated by the Monroe Garden Study League. Be sure to stop by during regular museum hours to see all that Biedenharn offers! Christmas at the Biedenharn will run from November 22 – December 31.

Candy Cane Lane: Candy Cane Lane is a mile-long wooded drive decorated with over One Million Christmas lights. Candy Cane Lane will be open daily Nov. 22 – Dec. 31 from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Santa’s Christmas Village: Don’t miss out on Santa’s Christmas Village at the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum! They’ve added a giant snow globe that you can get inside! Enjoy cookie decorating, visits with Santa, make and take holiday ornaments, rides down Mount Sneaux, and so much more! Santa’s Christmas Village runs from November 23 – December 22.

Open Wagon Rides: Ride through the festive lights in Monroe and West Monroe. The 30-minute rides begin at 5 PM every Friday and Saturday nights beginning Nov 29. The ride begins at Commerce Street and ends at Wood Street.

Christmas Tree Stroll: Enjoy a variety of Christmas trees decorating by local businesses! The Christmas Tree Stroll will be available for viewing from Nov. 30th to Dec. 31st. This year’s participants include The ULM Alumni Association, Chennault Aviation Museum, African American Museum, NELA Children’s Museum, and the Krewe of Janus!

Christmas Wishing Tree: Write down your wish or prayer at the downtown Christmas Wishing Tree! Over the next few days, your wish or prayer will be put in the tree. Something wonderful happens when we all wish and pray together. The Wishing Tree will be in Bry Park at the corner of Desiard and South Grand Street. The Christmas Wishing Tree will be on viewing from November 30 – December 25.

Monroe-West Monroe Christmas Lights: Lighted tunnels, beautiful trees, and holiday lights! The lights turn on November 18 and run through New Years day!
