Natchitoches to Unveil Newly Renovated Riverfront on Nov. 16

The rue Beauport Riverfront area has undergone $4 million in restorations

NATCHITOCHES, LA – The City of Natchitoches will be unveiling and dedicating the Rue Beauport Riverfront on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 5:30 p.m. The Riverfront has undergone a $4 million restoration and now includes a new festival stage and amphitheatre seating, a new Santa Clause house designed for year round use, handicap ramps, new staircases leading down to the riverfront, new restrooms, and a brick promenade that runs along Cane River Lake.

The Rue Beauport Riverfront Project was designed by Jeffery Carbo Landscape Architects to revive the area. The construction on the riverfront began in January 2017.

The rue Beauport Riverfront has events scheduled for the holiday season. Fireworks shows and musical performances during the Christmas Festival will be held at the riverfront park every Saturday from Nov. 18 to Dec. 23. This event is free and open to the public. For more information about the unveiling and dedication of the rue Beauport Riverfront, visit the Natchitoches Convention and Visitors Bureau website.

Natchitoches is a partner in the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights, which also includes Shreveport-Bossier, Minden, Monroe-West Monroe, and Alexandria/Pineville. To learn more about events and holiday happenings, visit the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights website.
