Louisiana Boardwalk Hosts An Array of Holiday Festivities

Shreveport-Bossier City, La. – The Louisiana Boardwalk will host a variety of fun-filled holiday events this season that promise excitement for the entire family!

All season long, from Nov. 24 to Jan. 1, Louisiana Boardwalk shoppers will enjoy various holiday festivities from the Holiday Tree Lighting to the holiday-music themed Feature Fountain, to Santa’s House and the nightly Boardwalk Blizzard.

The Boardwalk Blizzard brings snow to the Louisiana Boardwalk, making it the only place in Louisiana that guarantees wintry, snowy nights. The Feature Fountain will showcase lighted fountains choreographed to classical holiday tunes, playing at the top of each hour. Also, beginning on Nov. 28, visitors will be able to see Santa Claus and his reindeer Prancer at Santa’s House and have photos taken with him.

Below is a list of some of the events that the Louisiana Boardwalk will host this holiday season:

Monday, November 24 – Fourth annual December on the Red Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. Santa Claus will help the Louisiana Boardwalk throw the switch on the 40-foot holiday tree, adorned with more than 5,000 lights, to kick-off the holiday season. There will be live music, holiday entertainment, carolers and more, beginning at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, November 25 – The Louisiana Boardwalk will host the annual Bossier Christmas Parade.

Wednesday, November 26 – The nightly Boardwalk Blizzard begins at 7 p.m.

Friday, November 28 – Santa’s House officially opens and will operate from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Saturday, December 6 and Saturday, December 13 – Breakfast with Santa Claus. Have a tasty breakfast treat with the jolliest elf of all, St. Nick. Breakfast starts at 9 a.m.

Sunday, December 7 and Sunday, December 14 – Pet night with Santa at Santa’s House.

Saturday, December 27 – Independence Bowl Pep Rally and Battle of the Bands at the Boardwalk. The PetroSun Independence Bowl is a post-season college football bowl game with the Southeastern Conference and Big 12 match-up. The pep rally and Battle of the Bands begin 7 p.m.
