Dralion is a touring production by the Canadian entertainment Cirque du Soleil.

The show combines elements of traditional Chinese circus with Western contemporary circus, complementing the “East-meets-West” theme implied in the title is a portmanteau of “dragon” (representing the East) and “lion” (representing the West).

Kicking off Thanksgiving weekend, the Gardens of the American Rose Center are transformed into a whimsical winter wonderland featuring more than a million twinkling lights, dozens of lighted displays, giant Christmas Cards to the Community created by area school children, Santa’s Candy Shop and much more. This multi-weekend event features nightly entertainment, photos with Santa, rides on the Roseland Express train, a model train display and tons of fun for the whole family!

ADMISSION
Individual admission is $5 per person or $20 per carload. Ages 2 and younger are free.

Group Rates

  • $35 per minibus (Up to 25 people)
  • $75 per charter bus, please call 318-938-5402 to make a reservation

PHOTOS WITH SANTA
Photos with Santa are $10 each. No personal photography allowed. Santa is located in the Administration Building. Tickets may be purchased online or in the Gift Shop.

The 24th Annual Greening of Louisiana State Exhibit Museum will take place on Thursday, December 1st, 2011.

After a fun filled morning of SOX performances, making ornaments and prizes for the 24 3rd grade classes that have designed and decorated a holiday tree on this year’s theme of “Home Grown – Louisiana Artists”.

The trees will be on display until the end of December.

“The Nutcracker” Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet presents its annual holiday classic, “The Nutcracker,” on December 3rd and 4th, 2011 at Shreveport’s Riverview Theater.

The production features professional guest artists from the Houston Ballet, the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kermit Poling, and more than 100 local dancers. Tickets are $10-35. Contact SMB at 318-221-8500 or visit www.shreveportmetroballet.org for more information.

Join Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet for the traditional Sugar Plum Fairy Luncheon prior to the Sunday, December 4th matinee performance of “The Nutcracker.”

This delightful event will be held at the R.S. Barnwell Garden and Art Center, located conveniently across the street from Riverview Theater.

Tickets are $10 for children 12 and under and $15 for adults. Costumed “Nutcracker” characters arrive at 12:45pm for photographs and autographs, and lunch will be served at 1:15pm.
