Christmas lights are on every night at dusk from November 20, 2010 through January 6, 2011.  Downtown attractions include carriage tours through the historic district.  Shops and restaurants open late.  All events take place in the National Historic Landmark District along the Cane River Lake. DECEMBER                       

Dec. 2-3 - Natchitoches/Northwestern Christmas Gala. The annual Christmas Gala includes performances by the entire Creative and Performing Arts Department at Northwestern State University.   Admission $10 per person.  Performances will be held at A.A. Dec. 4 - 84th Annual Christmas Festival, Louisiana’s premiere holiday event.Daylong celebration with arts and crafts, food, parade, fireworks, light show and the lighting of 300,000+ Christmas bulbs and 100 plus riverbank set pieces.  Admission to Front Street & Downtown Riverbank. Dec. 8, 10, 11, 15, 17, 18 - Holiday Tour of Homes.  Guided tours of historic homes and buildings in the downtown historic district decorated for the holiday season.
