NOVEMBER

Nov. 25-27:  “Rail of Lights Christmas Train”.  Treat the family to a journey through time on an unforgettable ride on an old-fashioned steam train.  Departing at twilight, passengers will be awed by five miles of twinkling lights.  Join along in singing Christmas carols as you ride merrily along.  Jefferson & Cypress Bayou Train Depot, 400 E. Nov. 26:  City-Wide Christmas Lighting Ceremony.  An Old-Fashioned Christmas in Jefferson begins in the Enchanted Forest where dozens of lighted Christmas trees sparkle in a fantasy of lights.  The sights, scents, and sounds of Christmas begin.  Special Choral Music.  Lions Park, 600 East Jefferson St.

Nov. 26-Dec. 31:  Enchanted Forest.  Walk through an enchanting, sparkling wonderland of beautifully decorated Christmas trees.  Sponsored by the Historic Jefferson Foundation.  Lions Park, 600 East Jefferson St.  6:00 p.m.  (903) 665-7064.  www.visitjeffersontexas.com Free.

Nov. 26-Dec. 31:  Enchanted Castle.  Tour a life-size castle in Jefferson's Enchanted Forest.  Victorian Saint Nicholas will make special scheduled appearances.  Lion's Park, 600 East Jefferson St.  (903) 665-3733.  www.visitjeffersontexas.com Free.

Nov. 26-27:  Jefferson Riverboat Rides.  Glide along Big Cypress Bayou on a riverboat and hear tales of legend and lore of Jefferson’s colorful past when once a thriving river port in the 1800’s.  12:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. (weather permitting)  $6.50 Adults.  $4.00 Children (3-12) plus tax.  200 W. DECEMBER

December 2-4 & 9-11:  Christmas Music Concert.  Sounds of the season resonate throughout Jefferson as these musical concerts perform.  Choral groups, hand bells, and chimes delight all ages.  Sponsored by the Historic Jefferson Foundation.  Location:  1st Baptist Church St., 523 N. Polk.

December 31 & January 1:  "Rail of Lights New Year's Train"
"Celebrate the New Year with your family with our annual New Year's train.  The train will depart at 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. and all rides view the dropping of the ball in Times Square, beverages, noisemakers, and a fantastic fireworks show on each ride.  Jefferson & Cypress Bayou Train Depot, 400 E. Historic Home Tours:  Several historic homes are decorated with Christmas finery and beautiful antiques.  These homes were built in the 1800’s and each offers a unique experience. Times and days vary.  (903) 665-3733. 

Carriage Rides.  Enjoy the fantastic, sparkling, lighted historic town of Jefferson by a horse-drawn carriage ride.  Wrap up in a warm blanket and sip hot cocoa as you transcend into an era long past. (903) 399-8882 or (903) 926-8216.
